Top of the line eTrex

The eTrex Vista combines an International basemap, with a barometric altimeter and electronic compass. The compass provides bearing information while you're standing still and the altimeter determines your precise altitude.

The eTrex Vista boasts an internal memory capacity of 24 megabytes, which allows it to accept downloaded mapping data from GARMIN's MapSource* CD-ROMs. This unit also features a 12 parallel channel, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver. A silver case gives this unit a high-tech look. New to the product design, GARMIN will include marine aids to navigation in addition to the basemap. These navigational aids will be pre-loaded into each unit from the factory. This unit comes with a PC cable to download maps for greater detail.

It has an innovative rocker switch allowing quick and accurate panning, selection and enter functions. There is a crisp, high resolution display, 4 level grayscale (FSTN, 160x288 pixel)

eTrex Vista Europe (£388.99)

As above but this is bundled with the Europe Metroguide CD which shows street level data with points of interest such as hotels, restaurants, petrol stations and much more. You can also search and look up points of interest with addresses and phone numbers. Countries included are UK, Germany, Italy, France, Benelux, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Finland and Norway.
